Gershon Leizerson & The Yiddish Blues, one of the most exciting young bands in the Israel music scene, bring forgotten texts and masterpieces of Yiddish literature to life with a new, vibrant musical style.
For the audience this “Yiddish Blues” generates true feelings of joy and happiness, mixed with a healthy dose of bittersweet longing for a lost Yiddish culture.
Originally an acoustic project, the ensemble’s sound has evolved into fresh and eclectic directions, mixing Leizerson’s virtuosic Klezmer violin and Yiddish vocals with electric guitar, unique arrangements and diverse influences.
Their critically acclaimed debut album “In Vald Aleyn” released in early 2017, garnered excellent reviews and received airplay on several Israeli radio stations. The band has played in numerous festivals and clubs in Israel and abroad, including tours in Romania, Russia and Germany.
